2022 Distinguished Alumnus - Charles and Jo Blaschko

Charles “Chuck” and Jo Blaschko are both graduates of Arcadia High School and have made numerous contributions to the greater Arcadia community.  Chuck and Jo were married in 1971 and have left their mark on the Arcadia community, both as a couple and as individuals, through their involvement with various civic organizations, their involvement in their church community, their careers, and the building of an extremely successful business, Supreme Graphics.  Their contributions have touched many aspects of the community over their lifetime.

After graduation from high school, Chuck joined the US Navy where he spent four years serving his country.  Upon completion of Chuck’s service with the US Navy, he joined American Legion Post 17 and he has been a continuing member for 50 years. Chuck has been active in his community throughout his life while holding numerous leadership positions with various organizations.  At one time or another, he has served on the Board of Directors for The State Bank of Arcadia, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Foundation, the Gateway Area Council of Boys Scouts of America, the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, the Arcadia Projects, the United Bank, the Arcadia Library Board, and the WWTC Advisory Board.  In addition, he also served as the President of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce and as an officer with the Arcadia Lions Club.

Chuck was also involved in many other impactful activities in the community.  He served on the fundraising committee for the Arcadia Aquatic Center, worked with the public committee for one of the Arcadia school referendums, was involved with the Washington Court development, assisted with the Arcadia Community Health Fair, and served on the National Guard Deployment Troop Support Committee.

Not only has Chuck served the community as a civic servant, but has also contributed through his work. He was named the publisher of the Arcadia News-Leader in 1980.  In 1992, Chuck was named the CEO/President of Blaschko Enterprises, Inc.  As CEO/President, he led Supreme Graphics and was able to acquire Howe Printing in Prairie du Chien, WI to serve as the second location for Supreme Graphics. 

Jo has also had an outstanding lifetime of service to the community through her civic duty and her work.  She has served in many leadership roles in the organizations with which she has been involved.  She was the chairperson for several activities through the Arcadia Lioness Club including the Ashley for the Arts and the Broiler/Dairy Days food stands, the teacher’s breakfast, taco night, breakfast with Santa, the pageant luncheon, St. Patrick’s Day dinner, and the lasagna take-and-bake fundraiser.  In addition, Jo helped with fundraising for the Aquatic Center, worked on Kids Kingdom, has been involved with the Arcadia Lions Club, was a Girl Scout Leader, member of the PCCW Church group, is a member of the America Legion Auxiliary, worked with the annual Easter egg hunt, and has assisted with the Arcadia Lions Club eye screening project.

Jo also dedicated her life to the community through various aspects of her 30-year nursing career working at St. Francis/Mayo Clinic serving as clinic manager and chaired many committees there.  She taught babysitting classes and was a teacher’s assistant and monthly bread baker at Holy Family Catholic School.

In addition to their contributions to the community, Chuck and Jo have both been honored with various awards throughout their lifetimes.  In 2000, Chuck was named the Arcadia FBLA Businessperson of the Year and has also received the Arcadia Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellow Award.  Jo has also received recognition for her service to the community receiving the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award in 2017 and the Arcadia Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellow Award.  Finally, Chuck and Jo were able to share the honors of being named the Arcadia Lions Club Festmasters in 2006.
