5th Grade Entrepreneurship Unit Was a Success

5th Grade Entrepreneurship Unit Was a Success

The 5th grade decided to take a different course this year related to our Cookie Company unit because of the Covid restrictions. We decided that each of the 5th grade classes create their own company and product to sell during Raider Time.  Each class had to brainstorm ideas and come up with a business plan that was okayed by their teacher. In each business plan the class had to decide on a company name, a price for their product, advertising ideas, and where to get start-up money to buy ingredients. Mrs. Rumpel’s company name was Kernel Popcorn and sold popcorn with many different flavors/toppings. Mr. Updike’s company name was Magic Munch and they sold spicy trail mix. Mr. Patzner’s company name was Sugar Crunch and they sold cereal with a powdered sugar topping. Ms. Schultz’s company name was Spicy Amigos and they sold gummies flavored with chamoy and tajin. After all of the hard work and preparation of each class's product the sales people sold their product to many customers. The profit for the 5th grade classes was over $900. This unit was very successful, and we will continue next year with a couple of changes to make our companies even more successful.
