Arcadia Elementary Participates in Global School Play Day

Each year, Global School Play Day is observed on the first Wednesday of February. Arcadia Elementary staff and students enjoyed unstructured play without screens or technology throughout the day on Wednesday, February 1st. The day guidelines included; don't organize anything for students, don't tell them how to play or interfere with their playing. Students enjoyed board games, puzzles and other toys that encourage play without structure or adult intervention. Ms. Knudtson, 1st grade Teacher, said “I really enjoyed watching the social interaction among students and the relationships they fostered through play”.
