Arcadia Shares Its Story on a National Stage

The School District of Arcadia recently had the honor of presenting at the National WIDA Conference, one of the nation’s premier gatherings for educators who support multilingual learners. Through our partnerships with the University of Wisconsin–Madison and WIDA Project Respect, Arcadia’s innovative work in multilingual education—particularly in a rural setting—was recognized and celebrated.

District representatives presented two sessions: “Shifting Our Practice: Educators Supporting Multilingual Learners in Rural Settings” and “Illuminating Place and Rurality in Multilingual and Dual Language Education.” Both presentations highlighted how Arcadia continues to create meaningful opportunities for all learners while celebrating language and culture.

This fully funded opportunity allowed our team to share Arcadia’s story, learn from national education leaders, and bring back new strategies and resources to further strengthen our programs for students and families. Arcadia’s ongoing commitment to multilingual education shines through our Dual Language program, Valle, the Wisconsin Seal of Biliteracy certification, and a range of supports designed to help language learners thrive. Our district also continues to build strong school and community partnerships that honor and celebrate all cultures.

We are proud that Arcadia’s work is inspiring others across the country and that our story is helping to shape the future of multilingual education—right here in our rural community.
