Elementary Participates in Global Play Day

Each year, Global School Play Day is observed on the first Wednesday of February. Arcadia Elementary staff and students enjoyed unstructured play without screens or technology throughout the day on Wednesday, February 7th. The day guidelines included; don't organize anything for students, don't tell them how to play or interfere with their playing. Students enjoyed board games, puzzles, playdough and other toys that encourage play without structure or adult intervention. Mrs. Nelson, 3rd Grade Teacher said “It was great seeing their imaginations come alive, as well as their interactions with each other. They were all so engaged and excited just to play and have fun with each other”.
