High School Trimester Two Student Highlight

BAND

Linsy Cruz - Linsy has always been a positive light in my classroom. She enters the room by trying to make everyone smile, and loves to make jokes and have fun. She has also worked extra hard to learn all the new songs on her instrument and has stepped up to Jazz band this year after such a short time playing. She continues to impress me with her work ethic and drive to improve.

BUSINESS

Maribel Arciniega - Mari takes a keen interest in the business world. She hopes to be an entrepreneur someday! I love how she takes charge of group projects and her ambition.

CHOIR

Fanny Gomez - Fanny has a great voice and is a leader in the Soprano Section, but she is being chosen for this because she also has a tremendous personality. She exudes positive energy, kindness, great work ethic, helpfulness, and a desire to improve on a daily basis. Super proud of you Fanny. .

ENGLISH

Edith Gonzalez -  Edith has consistently worked hard to create a positive learning environment in English. She has an incredible work ethic, positive demeanor, and contributes to class both frequently and productively. Despite missing a large part of the trimester, Edith's effort to get caught up and succeed in English is highly commendable.

Kylie Mullikin - Kylie has worked hard to repair her grades, and completed her credit recovery. She has a new focus and deserves recognition for her renewed spirit and dedication to her school work! I am very proud of her!!!

Johan Hernandez - Johan works hard to do his best. He asks questions, communicates well, and, when called upon, shares his thoughts with the class.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT

Juan Hernandez Aguilar -  Juan enters class every day with a big smile on his face, ready to learn. He brings positive energy to our classroom. He actively participates in class and is not afraid to take risks with the English language. I truly admire his hard work and passion in learning a third language. Keep being you, Juan!!

Roberto Oliveras Rosado - Roberto is a hard-working and inquisitive student. He takes every opportunity to practice English, and he asks questions to improve his understanding.

HEALTH SCIENCE

Matthew Badillo -  Matthew is a positive and respectful student that engages in classroom discussions and allows other students to engage with him. He includes all students and is always looking to learn.

MATHEMATICS

Azul Corona Acosta -  Azul goes above and beyond in math every day with a positive attitude, a fantastic work ethic, and a willingness to always help a friend in need. Recently, I gave the class a challenging puzzle, and no one was able to solve it in the class time we had left (myself included). Azul kept working at this problem for days on her own until she triumphantly showed me how she was able to solve it. I am so proud of Azul's efforts day in and day out; she is a remarkable, hardworking student and very deserving of the Student of the Trimester Award. Keep up the great work, and congratulations, Azul!

Jerry Kreher -  Jerry is a regular participant in math class, he is a willing helper and has a sharp mind for math concepts.

Austin Hughes -  Austin is an amazing math student, who is always willing to participate in class and help others.

SCIENCE

Kaitlyn Bremer -  Kaitlyn is a student who always has a contagious and positive attitude that lifts up the classroom atmosphere and her peers. She works hard at everything she does and consistently pushes herself in her academics and athletics.

DRAMA

Jeff Mohr - Mr. Mohr was asked to help out with run crew for our Children's Theatre show in Drama Class. Without hesitation he said YES and was an amazing addition to our drama family. Jeff not only came to class everyday, even though he wasn't "in class", as he was a TA for the LMC, he quietly, efficiently, and performed his crew duties of lights and sound amazingly. He so enjoyed being a part of Goldilocks On Trial, he auditioned for the Spring Play - the Night of January 16th and I know he will shine brightly on stage with his Homer Sweeney character.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Abbi Wyttenbach - Abbi is in Intro to Fitness and has really found a passion for lifting. She is a natural in the weight room and has joined the Power Lifting Club where she is doing great! Abbi is a great leader in our class and leads by example with great form in all her lifts. She is always on task and focused on what we are doing each day. I am excited to see how far you can push yourself over the next 4 years!

ART

Daisy Aguilar Cruz - Daisy always does her best. Not only does daisy work VERY hard in class but she is helping others. I do not ask her to help but the second she sees a classmate in need she stops what she is doing to help them. Daisy is also in 2 Art classes this Trimester which is very challenging. She stays after school to catch up on work and she is incredibly dedicated. We have a large group of students in her Foundations of Art class and she is patient and kind to everyone and is always lending a hand to those in need.
