After a summer filled with Milkshake Stands and County Fairs and State Convention, Arcadia FFA members kept the momentum going with many fall activities. FFA was able to do two milkshake stands at football games along with FFA Alumni Members who are hoping to invigorate their group and start getting to be more involved with younger FFA members.
Arcadia FFA members also gave back to the community by volunteering at the Holy Family Festival, serving their famous milkshakes with the proceeds going back to the Church. Ten FFA members participated in the daunting task of roadside cleanup along County Road A. FFA members learned about leadership at The FFA Fall Leadership Conference located in Thorp and hosted by the State FFA officers. We were also able to attend the World Dairy Expo, where students competed in dairy judging, forage judging and dairy foods. Students got to learn skills that translate to working in careers in the dairy industry, and also got to see many of the new technologies and beautiful cattle on display at the expo. Most recently FFA members were able to compete at the Quad County Land Judging competition. The Arcadia Team was first place at this contest. At this event Arcadia students learned about soils and their importance in agriculture and many other building and environmental applications.
